Fraser Island, also known as K’gari is the world’s largest World Heritage listed sand island, located off the East Coast of Australia. Fraser Island is a year round popular tourist destination and renouned for its fishing. It is strictly 4wd territory. It is not only known for its long sandy beaches but also for its stunning lakes, wild dingos, ancient rainforests, coloured sands and sand blows.
Guests and tourists can depart from 2 locations, Hervey Bay or Rainbow Beach. There are no bridges to Fraser Island so getting to the island is by barge. Beautiful Orchid Beach is situated at the very top of Fraser Island so planning is required around tides is necessary.
